Manhattan Plaza Health Club
Large pool with two jacuzzis. Trees lining the glass walls of this human greenhouse make for a tropical paradise in the middle of Midtown West. The bathrooms are not as nice as NY Health & Raquet Club, but the pool is fantastic. Check out the snow through the glass walls in the winter, and enjoy the open air and sky above in the summer months. No extra charge for "outdoor" swimming in the summer! Membership is about $70 per month. (Of course they have everything else you can imagine in a gym, including outdoor tennis courts and a climbing gym.) Couples rates and special rates for certain apartments in area.
